Note that certified copies of marriage licenses can serve as proof of marriage for legal purposes. Therefore, a dedicated Cibola County marriage certificate is typically not issued.
Cibola County Divorce Records

Cibola County Birth Records

The request letter must contain the following information:

Cibola County Death Records
The New Mexico Bureau of Vital Records and Health Statistics is the custodian of Cibola County vital records, including death records. Under New Mexico law, death certificates remain confidential and are restricted from public access for 50 years after the date of death. Confidential death records are only available to the decedent’s immediate family members or to those who have tangible proof of legal interest in the record. Note that certain items, such as the requester’s government-issued photo ID and a $10 search fee, are required to request death records from the Bureau.
Interested persons can order a death certificate from the New Mexico Bureau of Vital Records and Health Statistics by mail or in person. In either case, requesters can use the Death Record Search Application (also available in a Spanish version) or draft a request letter to make their request. The drafted request letter must contain the following information:
- The decedent’s name.
- Date of death.
- City of death. Include the county if known.
- The decedent's Social Security Number, if known.
- The name of the mortuary in charge of final arrangements.
- Requestor's relationship to the person on the death certificate.
- The purpose for which you are requesting the death certificate.
- The requester’s name, signature, and mailing address.
Requesters can mail the completed Death Record Search Application or a drafted request letter, along with other required items, to the Bureau for mail-in requests. These required items include the $10 search fee (via certified check or money order payable to "New Mexico Vital Records") and a photocopy of the requester’s acceptable government-issued photo ID.

Cibola County Probate Court Records
Interested individuals can obtain Cibola County probate court records by querying the county Probate Court. The Probate Court has the authority to admit wills to informal probate, appoint a personal representative informally (without a will), and issue a certificate of complete administration of an estate. Unfortunately, the court does not offer online resources that individuals can use to access probate records remotely. Therefore, the only way to access or obtain copies of probate records is by visiting the Probate Court clerk's office to request records in person. The clerk’s office is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays (from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm) and Fridays (between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm).
Cibola County Property Records
Cibola County Clerk and the Assessor’s office are the custodians of property records. The County Clerk records and maintains property records, such as deeds, mortgages, surveys, plats, and similar documents. Meanwhile, the Assessor’s office is responsible for valuing real properties and generating a fair and equitable tax schedule for other entities to levy and collect relevant taxes based on a property’s value.
